Biomatch was asked to assess the potential of two relationships.

We were given no information other than the dates of birth.

We hope you will find our Biomatch biorhythmic analyses of these relationships informative and fascinating.

Couple one:

Tara and Robert

Biomatch Biorhythmic Analysis:

Biomatch Love and Physical compatibility rating: 38-50%

Survival Rating: Good (with short term problems)

The upside: Tara and Robert’s relationship is based on mutual ability to understand each other’s ways of thinking and an instinctive desire to protect one another as kin.
The downside: There are serious problems in their cycles when it comes to sexual chemistry and emotional openness. This could lead to a great deal of misunderstanding and insecurity.
Long-term survival forecast: External activities and friendships are essential for this relationship to survive. Unless there are third party elements or people that brought Tara and Robert together, and they remain important to them, such as children, this relationship would not survive.

About the Couple:

Tara Calvin, 34, a beauty therapist from Huddersfield,W Yorks, met Robert, 39, a company director, 16 years ago. Married for three years, they have two children, Sam 10 and India, four

What the couple said:

Tara - I spotted Robert across a crowded room at a party, and it was love at first sight. He was 22 and I was 17. I'd never met anyone like him before - he was handsome well travelled and ambitious. Two years later we moved in together. Like most couples we've had our ups and downs but I couldn't wish for a kinder partner. Robert sets aside time for children, as he does for me. We go out every Saturday night on our own, spend Monday together and have a sit-down family meal each Sunday. Despite Robert's hectic work schedule, I never feel neglected. He's always telling me 'Tara, there'll never be anyone else.' I believe him.

Robert - Tara has taught me how to be calm. When we first met, I used to fly off the handle, but she would just ignore me - so I don't bother anymore. Now we rarely argue. If we do it's over within two minutes. As well as being laid back, Tara is stunning, sweet and classy. She has always been a solid support. I started my businesses from nothing and, as I built them up, I have generally worked 15 hour days. However my time is carefully mapped out so I do see my wife and family. Tara and I go to bed at the same time every night, and I think this is one of the things that helps keep our marriage alive.

Couple two:

Lakhvinder and Harry

Biomatch Biorhythmic Analysis:

Biomatch Love and Physical compatibility rating: 42-45%

Survival Rating: Good (with short term problems)

The upside: Lakhvinder and Harry’s relationship is based on intellectual stimulation, friendship and caring.
The downside: Their only real weakness is in their sexual and physical chemistry - the most important element for sharing a lifetime together.
Long-term survival forecast: This relationship could become increasingly disappointing yet the feeling of belonging together will remain quite strong. This may well be enough to keep Lakhvinder and Harry together. Unless the couple actively seek physical stimulation via sports or hobbies they may lose interest in one another as partners. Children or other close family members could help lessen the physical incompatibility.

About the Couple:

Lakhvinder Hayre, a trainee social worker, and Harry Singh, both 32, were married for six years before breaking up in 1998. They have a son, Jatinder, nine, and live in Bradford, W Yorks

What the couple said:

Lakhvinder - Most divorced couples I know can hardly speak without arguing, but it's not like that between Harry and me. We've tried to keep things amicable for Jatinder's sake and worked hard to stay on goods terms. We still go out for meals on occasions. In fact, we get on better now than when we were a married couple.

We first met through a family friend when we were 19, then went out for a year before getting married. After the wedding we lived with Harry's parents. We were rarely alone, other than in the bedroom, and never did anything together - it was just work , sleep, work. This wrecked our marriage. I felt suffocated - which is why I left after six years.

Harry - When Lakhvinder left me, it was a complete shock. I had no idea she was that unhappy. We hardly argued and she was very loving. It took six months for it to sink in that she'd gone. I still have feelings for her now, and I'd love us to get back together.

Are the two of us compatible? I think we are. I certainly haven't met another woman like Lakhvinder. Despite what the experts might say, I think we should still be together as man and wife.
Biomatch comment following the publication:

These two couples share a very similar compatibility pattern. The biggest weakness, in both of the relationships, is the low physical compatibility rating. Lack of physical compatibility, especially in a sexual relationship, causes problems sooner or later. This is because sexual energy levels would be out of sync most of the time.

Both couples enjoy a strong reflexive compatibility. This is an important and valuable compatiblility rating in a close relationship - sexual or not.

The Biomatch Reflexive Cycle represents our automatic reactions and inner functions - including fertility. If we share a high reflexive compatibility rating with another, after a while, mutual feelings of kinship and caring emerge even if there is no blood tie.

Some people find it difficult to show affection whilst others find it easier to 'parent' their partners - especially if their reflexive compatibility is high. If the affectionate behaviour is one sided, the giver may run out of esteem and end up feeling too depleted to carry on.

Even the most compatible relationships are about understanding, give and take. All relationships, without exception, need to be worked at. It looks as if Tara and Robert have succeeded in overcoming the weaknesses of their relationship and made it work where Lakhvinder and Harry have failed.
